Hans Rauh's pictures explode in color. They quote the “big bang”, the epitome of the creative in general.
But the painterly reference to explosions and eruptions is not enough for him. Hans Rauh combines these
explosive traits of his painting with a strict obligation to depict and make statements.
His pictures work with the methods of a highly exciting reality: flowers that break open
literally torn, crows over a jet-black, freshly turned fall field, boiling up a landscape
in the autumn, storm against a bright yellow sky, including one of his red-colored nudes,

the subject is spreading with pleasure.

Hans Rauh paints just as he shapes and animates his objects. He "shreds" the colored areas, the lines,
the all-crowning “lights”, he is playing on the raw sacking that he uses a lot. Paintings appear
like outbursts, screams, spontaneous notes, hardly any corrections, rather the whole picture is rejected.
He works out his "archetypes" (as he calls them himself) down to the smallest detail -
as in the form of a jazz drummer: wiped out in red against a black and blue background, hair around her head
flung, hands and drum literally "thrown" out of paint, and then the "tattoo" of the whole
with yellow paint splashes straight from the tube. Noise, rhythms and exuberant vitality that curdle in color.

All works are designed like the tableau of an old master, only the restlessness of this time chases him.
Hans Rauh paints on the hectic pulse of time and he paints with wit and emphasis.

Hans Rauh was born on January 20th, 1935 in Bayreuth and lives in his house in Bavaria.
There he is still driven by a great enthusiasm for creativity and the desire to create.
